Events Sponsored by the 28th New York The following are Civil War Reenactment events which the 28th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company E, are event sponsors. For more information relating to these events, please click on the event names (where currently available). Fire on the Genesee, Letchworth State Park, NY. The Fire on the Genesee Event is held annually (currently in its eleventh year), overlooking Letchorth Gorge, at Highbanks recreation area. The extensive camp includes living history activities throughout the course of the weekend, drill sessions and public displays, a dance on Saturday evening and battles on Saturday and Sunday. Hamlin Beach Civil War Encampment, Hamlin, NY. The Civil War Reenactment at Hamlin Beach State Park (in Hamlin, NY) is in it's twelfth year. The weekend's events include battles on Saturday and Sunday afternoon as well as living history displays throughout the weekend and a civil war dance on Saturday evening, all carried out on the banks of Lake Ontario.
