| Joining the 28th New York Volunteer Infantry, Company E. |
| The 28th New York reenactment group is dedicated to portraying an accurate representation of life during the 1860's. People reenact for a number of reasons: |
| - To represent and honor ancestors who fought during the Civil War. |
| - In order that we may educate people today what our fellow Americans experienced while fighting to preserve the Union during the 19th Century. |
| - To learn more about that period of history. |
| Whether you have a direct link to a person who fought during the war itself, if you are interested in history or if you simply want to try something different there is a part to be played in reenactments. |
| It is not just about the military reenactments... We have people who portray civilians. Whether they are representing the home front of the war, wives of soldiers, political figures of the era or camp followers, there are many different characters which a person can represent at reenactments. |
